I am a native of Sulphur Springs, Texas where I graduated from Sulphur Springs High School, followed by a degree in Agriculture at Texas Tech University, followed by a Veterinary Degree from Texas A&M University. I have been practicing in Sulphur Springs for over 30 years. I am blessed to be back in my home community which has allowed me to raise my family with Pam and our two beautiful daughters. I am presently on the Board of NETBIO Cattle Organization, President of the Hopkins County Dairy Festival, Trustee of The Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, and a member of various professional organizations. Over the years I have been in leadership roles for Young Famers of America, Chamber of Commerce, Professional Ag Workers, Rural-Urban Organizations, and many other small organizations and activities that have kept me busy and involved in our special community.
I am a 2013 graduate of Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. I have a wonderful wife, Taylor, and three beautiful children. My wife and I are both originally from Winnsboro, Texas, however, I graduated from Yantis High School. I attended undergrad at Texas A&M - Commerce where I was a member of the nationally ranked livestock judging team. After undergrad, I worked on a master's degree at Stephen F. Austin State University, before being accepted into veterinary school. Being a veterinarian is a lifelong dream for me and the only thing I have wanted to do since I observed my first surgery while in elementary school. I enjoy facing new challenges every day and meeting new people around every corner. I am super excited to be at Broadway Veterinary Hospital, working with Dr. Black and the wonderful staff. I could not ask for a better and more caring group to join. I look forward to meeting everyone and joining the Broadway Vet Family!
I grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas where I met my wonderful husband, Kurt, in high school. He has supported me through school where I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1990, cum laude. We are blessed to have two wonderful children; Rebecca and Karl. We moved to Sulphur Springs over 10 years ago because we loved the small town and the people here in this community. I feel so fortunate to be able to assist Dr. Black and his team at Broadway Veterinary Hospital. They have such empathy for animals and a genuine concern to provide the best care for them and their owners! In my spare time, I’m active at church and teach 3rd graders there.
